This privacy policy applies only to the actions of Civil Society Innovation Fund (CSIF) Ethiopia (“CSIF Ethiopia” “we” “our” or “us“) and Users with respect to this website. It does not extend to any websites that can be accessed from this website.

1. Introduction
The Civil Society Innovation Fund (CSIF) Ethiopia is a multi-donor initiative established to strengthen the role, capacity, and influence of civil society organisations (CSOs) in Ethiopia. It recognises CSOs as key actors in promoting democratic governance, peace, human rights, gender equality, media freedom, and broader social transformation. By providing targeted support, CSIF aims to contribute to a more democratic, peaceful, and stable Ethiopia, empowering CSOs to deliver innovative, inclusive, and context-responsive initiatives across diverse communities and regions

2. Personal information collection
For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), MannionDaniels is the “data controller”.
Certain processing activities may also be undertaken by AGAR Development Consult as part of programme delivery.
We collect certain information or data about you when you call us, email us and use our services. This includes:
Questions, queries or feedback you leave, including your email address or telephone number if you contact us
Information about your use of our website services including what pages you visited, how long you visited the website for
Information that you provide for the purpose of registering and accessing our services including names, address, organisational data, email and telephone numbers.

Note that even though survey responses may be anonymous, the third-party system will record all participant IP addresses, however the information will never be associated with your survey response for analysis purposes. Consent: through certain actions such as when you browse our website or ask us to provide you with further information you provide your consent to us to process information that may be personal information. This can be done by entering our website and filling in your information for the purposes set out in section 2.1 using personal information. Wherever possible, we aim to obtain your consent to process this information, for example, by asking you to agree to our use of cookies set out in this policy under section 4.2. 2.3. Where your data is stored
We store your data on our secure servers in Europe. It may also be stored outside of Europe. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this.
Where data is transferred outside Europe, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) will be applied.
2.4. Information disclosure
Through our business activities, we may disclose your personal information to donors, consortium partners and subcontractors for purposes directly related to the management and delivery of our services. This includes the grant making process where we receive applications from interested parties for funding. Those in question will be obligated to use the personal information in accordance with the terms of this privacy statement.
We may also need to disclose your information if required to do so by law and for the purpose of defending our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention).
2.5. Information protection
We take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. All personal information is stored securely in accordance with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation.
By using our website services, you acknowledge that the transmission of information over the internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.
You are responsible for keeping the password you use for accessing our website and application portal confidential; we will not ask you for your password (except when you log in to our website).
2.6. Cross-border data transfers
Information that we collect may be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in which we operate to enable the use of the information in accordance with this privacy policy.
In addition, personal information that you submit for publication on the website will be published on the internet and may be available around the world.

3.1. Accessing your personal information
Individuals can find out if we hold any personal information by making a ‘subject access request’ under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If we do hold information about you, we will:

3.2. Data retention period
Personal data that we process shall not be kept for longer than is necessary. Our retention period is in line with our contract conditions with the donors we serve and the default legal standard retention period which is specified as six years.
Personal data acquired as a result of your consent for receiving our newsletters will be kept until the consent is removed. However, we will review and refresh your consent on a regular basis, at least every 24 months.
3.3. Withdrawing your consent
You may exercise your right to withdraw your consent in relation to your personal data being used at any time by written notice to us via email to: info@csinnovationfund.org.
By withdrawing your consent this does not affect the lawfulness or processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
4. Visitors to our websites
Our website is hosted on Squarespace. Squarespace collects standard internet log information and visitor behaviour data whenever someone visits our site. This includes details such as IP addresses, browser type, pages viewed, and the time spent on each page. Squarespace processes this information on our behalf to help us understand website traffic, diagnose technical issues, and improve the overall performance and security of the site.

4.4. Who has access to your personal data and to whom is it disclosed?
The data collected on this website are processed by the CSIF Ethiopia programme managed by AGAR Development Consult (Ethiopia) and MannionDaniels (UK) (“website operator”, “we”, “us”, “our”), as stated in the privacy policy.
The personal data you enter in the ‘Contact Us’ or newsletter sign up forms (your email address) will be shared with further CSIF Ethiopia, if your information needs to be processed by them. You may revoke your consent to this at any time by contacting us via email at info@csinnovationfund.org. The data processed before we receive your request may still be legally processed.
The personal data you enter to get our services or information are processed by the respective partner managing the programme. They will only process or use your data to the extent necessary for the purposes of the CSIF Ethiopia programme implementation.
4.5. Interaction with external social media networks and platforms
This type of service allows interaction with social media networks or other external platforms directly from the pages of this Application. The interaction and information obtained through this Application are always subject to the User’s privacy settings for each social network. This type of service might still collect traffic data for the pages where the service is installed, even when Users do not use it.
4.6. Newsletter
If you choose to receive our newsletter, you can sign up using the form on our website. We only collect the information necessary to provide this service, and no additional data are gathered unless you explicitly consent to it.
We use your email address solely to send you our newsletter through GetResponse (https://www.getresponse.com/), an email marketing platform that stores and processes data on European servers. GetResponse’s Global headquarters and main operational centre are located at Grunwaldzka 413 (NEON), 80‑309 Gdańsk, Poland. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link included in every newsletter. Your withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before your request was received.

We may update these Terms of Use or the Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Ethiopia. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ethiopia.
